The A.C.T. Coroner will hold an inquest into last week’s death of a Canberra jail detainee.
The 73 yea r old man was awaiting his next court appearance… and was on remand when he died in custody last week.
It’s understood, the man died last Wednesday but details were not released until a day later.
A spokesman has confirmed, the man was ill and receiving medical care, since being remanded to the Alexander Maconochie Centre, earlier this year.
The man’s death is now the subject of a coronial inquiry.
