A man’s due to return to a Canberra court next month – charged after unlawfully detaining a person in their own home.

It’s alleged, the woman endured 5 months of confinement… not allowed to leave, make phone calls or text messages, without permission.

But police say, she faked an illness to alert authorities of her plight.

Officers were called to the Tuggeranong Health Interchange last month, after the woman convinced her partner she was ill and needed treatment.

She then asked staff to contact police.

The man’s already pleaded NOT GUILTY in the ACT Magistrates Court and is set to face court again next month.
