A 20-year-old man will face the A.C.T. Magistrates court today on five driving offences after he allegedly attempted to avoid arrest – by moving to the back seat of his car when stopped by police.
Late yesterday, police pulled up behind a black Range-Rover at the intersection of Flemington and Randwick Roads, Lyneham.
It’s alleged, The driver ran the red light, narrowly avoiding a collision, before accelerating away
Police activated their lights and sirens,
The vehicle eventually came to a stop in Sandford Street….
Officers allegedly witnessed the man moving from the driver’s seat into the back of the car.
He was then arrested – checks revealed he had never held a licence and that he is already awaiting sentencing for a previous charge of driving without a licence.
