Case numbers also continue to drop with just 236 new cases reported in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, with 90 patients receiving care in Canberra hospitals, including 2 in intensive care.

It’s further strengthened the belief that Canberra has well and truly passed the winter surge, with cases well below what was predicted by modelling.

The numbers come as National Cabinet voted to shorten the amount of time that people would spend in isolation after testing positive from 7 days to 5, and mask mandates on domestic flights are also being removed.
