ACT building projects are being delayed due to interrupted supply chains being caused by local border restrictions.
Local tradies now have more freedom to work over the border, but only those within the regional bubble can work in the Territory without an exemption.
Master Builders ACT CEO Michael Hopkins says there is another issue outside of staffing that needs consideration.
“Building products and supplies are often manufactured outside the ACT,” said Mr Hopkins.
“They often come with a requirement that they have to be delivered and then installed by product manufacturer.
“All of that has been on hold, even though the industry was allowed to reopen earlier than some others.”
