Concerns continue to be raised about the level of lay-offs by small business in the A.C.T. as part of recent Commonwealth re-structuring plans to use fewer consultants.

It’s an on-going message from Canberra based Business Groups and advisors – who say the situation has reached a crunch point.

As a result, businesses are downsizing.. or asking staff to take leave without pay.

The Canberra Business Chamber has previously stated, there are potentially hundreds of affected A.C.T. Locals.

Late last year, the Government moved to wind-back excessive outsourcing – in favour of direct employment, within its own agencies.
