Construction of a bus shelter in Throsby has been suspended due to privacy concerns raised by a nearby resident.

The shelter on Bettong Avenue was partially installed before construction was halted last week.

Transport Canberra says the shelter will be re-installed as soon as possible in the new year.

19 new bus shelters have been installed across Gungahlin recently, with another pending review.
