The ACT government is testing its new mobile device detection cameras for up to the next eight weeks.

The cameras set up on Majura Parkway won’t result in fines or warning notices during the testing period.

ACT Deputy Director-General of Transport and City Services Ben McHugh says some of the cameras will be portable while others will be fixed in place.

“These mobile device cameras are able to take images through the windscreen to see if the driver is using their device while driving,” McHugh said.
