The ANU has recruited it’s first director of Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.

Professor Michelle Ryan, who first coined the term “glass cliff”, will join the university in an effort to drive better gender equality across the Asia-Pacific.

The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership was founded and is chaired by Australia’s first woman prime minister, Julia Gillard, and aims to create a world where being a woman is not a barrier to becoming a leader in any field.
