From today, about 300 A.C.T. Hospital Doctors are going on an unprecedented strike over pay.

the action involves members of the Canberra based Salaried Medical Officers Federation… but they’ve given an assurance, it won’t affect patient care… just some administrative matters.

The strike action’s in response to a decision by the A.C.T. Government NOT to budge on negotiations

A wage increase of just over two percent does not match cost of living pressures.

The A.C.T. Government’s now in caretaker mode…

Any further bargaining won’t happen until after next month’s A.C.T. election.
