E-scooter hire company Ario is looking to introduce their scooters in  Canberra.

The scooters would be more high tech than the models currently operating, with the ability to park without a rider, and automatically slow down if more than one person rides.

The ACT government says they are not negotiating with individual providers for e-scooters and will instead undertake a competitive application process for a scooter supplier later this year.
