Canberrans are being warned about a new scam email – and it involves the A.C.T.’s Federal Police Commissioner.

It’s a new twist on an old email… allegedly from Federal Police Commissioner REECE KERSHAW.

But – it’s a fake.

A statement claims to address alleged cyber-crime activity… and child trafficking, linked to your Internet address.

It’s similar to another scam advisory, distributed in February, in which a fake subpoena or summons was issued.

Federal Police warn:-

• they would never contact the public in this manner….

• and don’t open attachments or links in the email as they may be malicious.
