For the first time since the start of the pandemic, international flights are officially returning to Canberra Airport.
Fiji Airways has confirmed plans to start direct flights with Nadi using a Boeing 737 jet.
The aircraft also caters for up to 8 business class seats and the entire plane is kitted out with flight entertainment and inflight wifi.
Full details, including flight times and freqency of service, will be explained on Friday when a Fiji Airways jet is flown into Canberra for the official announcement.
Airline officials hope Canberrans will use this service for stops in Nadi as they make their way to the United States.
Fiji Airways already flies to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Talks continue for the potential of a return to the national’s capital by Singapore Airlines while Qatar continues to flounder on its return of Canberra services.
