Fire Ratings

There’s no change to the A.C.T.’s current fire danger – while regions around the territory, including Queanbeyan and Goulburn have now moved to a total fire ban.

From today the ban comes into effect, and will extend up into areas such as the Yass Valley, the Upper Lachlan, Cowra, Blayney, and Bathurst.

It’s because of expected drier conditions across New South Wales.

Officials say – from now until May this year, much of the country is likely to see below average rainfall and normal to above-normal temperatures.

The A.C.T. appears relatively protected from bushfire risks in the months ahead, because of high soil moisture levels.
