Flight Emergency


Air Safety Investigators continue to probe a mishap involving a flight leaving Canberra.


The plane was operated by Link Airways on behalf of Virgin when it got into difficulty more than a week ago on a flight to Sydney.


Virgin flight 6-2-5 failed to pressurize when it got airborne and pilots had to keep the aircraft at 10-thousand feet until it reached its destination.



The cause was found to be missing trim from the cabin door.


Further investigations continue into the circumstances leading up to the incident.


It’s not the first time of an emergency involving the code share arrangement at Canberra Airport.


Last year, there was another emergency involving a Link Airways plane,  flying on behalf of Virgin.


A strap that was fitted to the propeller was not removed and pierced the cabin on take off from Canberra.
