It was constructed 3 years ago. Now, work has begun to tear-down the Garran Surge Centre.
But it comes with a hefty price tag – at a cost of about 8 million dollars.
Four million will be spent on dismantling the centre – while the remaining four will be spent to rejuvenate Garran oval.
The centre was created as part of the Territory Government’s response to the pandemic, and was used as a COVID-19 testing facility, and later a vaccination centre.
