The women in blue took out the NRL-W State of Origin match in Canberra, beating the Queenslanders at 20-14.

This is the side’s first Origin win since 2019.

Blues fans had their hearts in their mouths in the dying minutes of the game, as the Maroons made a brief come back.

It was Isabelle Kelly who sealed the victory for the Sky Blues with a late try, earning herself the Nellie Doherty Medal player of the match.

The crowd also set an attendance record for the women’s State of Origin, with 11, 321 people attending the match at GIO Stadium.
