The ACT Government has released a 10 year plan to improve the health of Lake Tuggeranong.

The Healthy Waterways Plan focuses on reducing nutrient pollution entering the lake so that by 2035 lake closures due to algal blooms occur no more than one in every four years and that blooms are short lived and effectively managed when they do occur.

Funding from this year’s ACT budget will include funding to go towards a trial of anti-algal technologies and strengthening research and monitoring.
