Government’s Multimillion Dollar Tourism Pitch


$2 million will be spent over the next three years to boost the “get to know the real Canberra” campaign, aimed at boosting the coronavirus-ravaged tourism industry.

Funding for the “More Than” campaign will be included in next month’s budget, and $1.5 million will also be part of the budget for a new COVID-safe tourism investment program.

The ACT’s tourism sector was among the worst hit in 2020, with the combination of the summer fires and coronavirus pandemic wiping out more than a billion in overnight visitor spending in the year to September.
