Andrew Braddock says Queensland’s decision to cease the use of spit hoods is only further evidence the device should be outlawed in the Territory.
Just last week a watch house sergeant here in the ACT was allegedly spat on, but Mr Braddock questions the use of the spit hood here in the Territory, labelling the use of them as ‘an inhumane practice’.
The Greens MLA says he is continuing consultation with stakeholders before bringing forward legislation before the end of the year.
