Ahead of the October election, the A.C.T. Greens have come up with a policy, which it says will help Canberrans boycott the big supermarkets.
It’s an election commitment of three-and-a-half million dollars, for a food hub in Fyschwick.
The aim is to encourage local farmers to set up a base of operations for food production and distribution.
It would also provide training spaces, for those looking to become local growers.
The Greens believe, the pledge will help Canberrans, who want to save money.. and boycott the supermarket giants.
