The A.C.T.’s health system is again under fire.
New figures show more than 13-hundred people had waited longer the recommended time for elective surgery and emergency department stays.
Last year, the figure was put at 773.
Officials had hoped to get the number down to just 430 but instead, it’s come in at nearly three times the expected number.
The annual report from A.C.T. Health cited staff shortages, high bed occupancy and the COVID-19 pandemic all contributed to the missed targets.
