Police believe they’ve dented a huge illegal tobacco operation following multiple seizures northwest of the national capital.

The seizures follow a series of random breath tests and traffic stops carried out over the long weekend on the Hume Highway.

Most of them centre on stops in Gundagai.

It’s alleged, police uncovered Large quantities of vapes and illegal tobacco products… as well as a machine used to produce cigarettes.

Multiple cars were stopped and while drivers were found to be obeying road rules, an inspection of their vehicles is alleged to have led to the discovery of multiple tobacco related offences. Those arrested are due to face court at later dates.
