TOUCH DOWN at Canberra Airport for the second new aircraft-type for QantasLink.
It’s the new Airbus A-220 jet…. after a five hour flight direct from Fiji to Canberra.
The jet arrived at 2:18pm Tuesday afternoon.
According to Canberra airport – only a quiet arrival was planned – no water cannon salute, which is normally reserved when a new plane begins its first scheduled service.
The aircraft has been dubbed “KOALA” – named after native Australian wildlife.
When it officially enters the QantasLink fleet, the jet will operate on the Canberra Melbourne route, among other services.
