A Jury trial could be scrapped, for a man accused of killing a fellow mental health patient in Canberra Hospital

It’s a significant development in the murder case –

Prosecutors have notified the A.C.T. Supreme Court, it plans to agree to a special verdict.

THAT means, the matter will proceed, more likely as a paper proceeding. PREVIOUS cases have included the accused being found NOT guilty, by way of impairment.

The trial was DUE to begin next week. Prosecutors previously told the court, they were still considering an expert report.

The accused, an 18 year old at the time of his alleged crimes in November 2022.. denied murdering the 38 year old and has not entered any pleas.
