Lake Tuggernanong Closed for Swimming Ahead of Christmas


A high alert for blue-green algae has been issued for Lake Tuggeranong.

Primary-contact water activities such as swimming, and diving have been banned, secondary contact such as rowing and fishing are still permitted.

Exposure to blue-green algae can cause irritation of the skin, flu-like symptoms, and gastrointestinal illness.

Anyone concerned about exposure should visit their GP.
