The company behind a local water lantern festival says ticketholders will be refunded if it can’t secure a new venue.
The festival, which was scheduled for next month, was called into question after it was revealed the National Capital Authority never granted approval for the event.
Around 600 tickets had been purchased for the original event at Commonwealth Park, with a number of people writing to ask for a refund.
A spokesperson for the company says it’s hoped they can bring the festival to the nation’s capital, at a different venue.
The company has also apologised for using the Commonwealth Coat of Arms without approval.
