Learners New Incentive

Canberra’s learner drivers now have greater incentive to work towards getting their drivers licence.

The move is the brain-child of the 222 Senior Australian of the Year – VAL DEMPSEY.

She called on Governments to offer mandatory FIRST AID training to all learner drivers – in a bid to reduce the road toll.

The A.C.T. Government has listened – and is offering a free ONLINE first-aid course, through the Queensland University of technology

It’ll count towards a learner’s required driving hours when getting a licence.

Transport Minister Chris Steel said the training would provide new drivers with basic first-aid skills to respond to road injuries if they are first on the scene of a collision.
