Good news if you’ve got an overdue book from Queanbeyan Library.
Council’s decided to abolish all late fees – as well as waiving all current fines.
Effective immediately, the Library will no longer charge fines for the late return of books.
The decision comes following a nationwide trend of scrapping late fines for books.
Research shows, the overdue fines discouraged people from using Libraries.
Lost items will still incur a fee.
