Solar lighting is being rolled out at more than two dozen of Canberra’s iconic concrete bus shelters.

It’s part of a push to make them safer, with the ACT Government installing solar-powered lights at 28 bus shelters in the coming weeks.

It’s reported that eight of the sites will have the lighting installed mid-month, with the other sites being lit up in the coming months.

The Iconic shelters were designed in 1974 by Clement Cummings, and are flagged to become heritage listed in the ACT.
