A 54-year old Florey man has been charged after allegedly assaulting and forcibly confining his partner last night following a card game.

The man allegedly picked up a wooden stool, cornering his partner in the kitchen area and spitting at her after the pair played a card game with their son.

Police attended the scene and arrested the man shortly after.

Police are encouraging anyone experiencing family violence to contact them on 1-3-1 TRIPLE-4 or triple zero when safe to do so.
