A Canberra man who ran naked through a busy intersection while he was drunk has escaped with a fine.

Seyed Ali Talebi Akram has appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court via telephone.

He’s pleaded guilty to one count of offensive behaviour in a public place and one count of obstructing the path of a driver, following the incident in Gungahlin on January 15.

The man has been in Villawood Immigration Detention Centre since his arrest and now has 12 months to pay an $800 fine.
