The Mental Health Community Coalition says it supports the controversial YWCA Social Housing development in Ainslie.

The project will deliver 10 units to provide shelter for older women and women fleeing domestic violence.

However, a number of residents are opposed to the development over concerns of increased traffic and ruining the character of the neighborhood.

Chief Executive of the Mental Health Community Coalition Bec Cody is appealing for residents to have an open mind.
