Locals have taken to social media to post videos and images of a meteor that was spotted on Thursday evening.
The meteor was seen across the ACT, and even in Sydney at around 6.30pm on Thursday May 21.
ANU Astrophysicist Dr Brad Tucker says the timing of the event was rare, given that lots of people reported sightings.
Dr Tucker says it’s nothing to worry about, with similar events occurring regularly.
