Australian Swimmer Kyle Chalmers has silenced his critics with gold medal victory at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Chalmers put a finger to his lips when he won the 100 metres freestyle after struggling with speculation about his private life over the past few days.

There were four other gold medal wins in the pool this morning Emma McKeon, Kaylee McKeown, and Matt Levy and the men’s four by 200 freestyle relay team all finishing first.

Aussies also claiming gold in judo, cycling, lawn bowls and gymnastics.
