ACT Police continue their crackdown on illegal motorcycle activity in Canberra suburbs, following the seizure of a motorbike from a teenage rider across the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, police responded to reports of motorbikes being ridden in multiple suburbs in the Belconnen district.

Officers found two motorbikes and riders at the back of the Melba shops, with one rider fleeing the scene and the other unable to restart his trailbike.

The rider was identified as a 16 year old boy.

The motorbike was seized as it was unroadworthy, unregisterable and the rider did not hold a licence.

Investigations are continuing and charges may be laid.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of illegal motorcycle activity in Canberra suburbs to come forward.
