A warning today for Canberrans to be wary of a new scame – as a telco reports a surge in fraudulent calls.

Vodafone says there’s been a 90 per-cent increase in robo-call scams over the past week.

It’s understood,  customers are told they’ll be disconnected unless they pay a fee.

Vodafone’s Mitchell Bingemann says it’s crucial people protect themselves and never give the caller any personal details.
