Next Step In Hospital Expansion

A large crane has moved into the construction site at the Hospital Expansion, signifying the next stage of the $624 million project.

The crane which will soon be joined by another one, will be used to build the new 8-storey Critical Services Building.

Major Projects Chief Officer Duncan Edghill says the government will continue to communicate with Canberrans.

“We’re in constant dialogue with the surrounding community,” Edghill said.

“Including the local Garren Primary School, so when issues arise we can work through them.”

Construction is expected to take around 2 years, but could be longer due to the current weather and impact from Covid-19.
