NRL Head of Football Graham Annesley has announced Canberra will host a match in the NRLW’s State of Origin.
Annesley said this wouldn’t have happened without the lobbying from the Canberra Raiders.

Furner believes this game is another step towards establishing a NRL women’s team for the region – ensuring the region’s talented female players, don’t have to leave to play.
He also accredited the ACT government with backing the Raider’s push to establish the team.
“I have no doubt, hosting this match in Canberra will generate more interest in the women’s game, ahead of the Raider’s team bid in 2023,” said Deputy Chief Minister, Yvette Berry.
The match will be played on June 24, 2022.
