The police officer charged over the alleged use of a taser on Cooma great-grandmother Clare Nowland has video-dialled into his first court appearance.

Kristian White is facing three charges, including recklessly causing grievous bodily harm over the encounter with the 95 year old at Yallambee Lodge in May.

Mrs Nowland died a week later in hospital.

The prosecutor has failed in a bid to impose a bail condition requiring Senior Constable White to appear in court in person in the future.
