A man remains behind bars after appearing in court for assaulting an officer who lost multiple teeth during an arrest in Canberra.

Two police officers attempted to arrest a 21 year old on Sunday night in Belconnen.

It’s alleged, he was suspected of breaching his bail condition and attempted to flee the officers, but then punched one of them in the mouth. The officer lost up to five teeth.

He’s already faced the A.C.T. Magistrates Court but did not apply for bail when his case was mentioned
