A 30 year old man from Canberra’s northside has been arrested after being caught INSIDE the old Parliament House.
Just before 1:30 this-morning, A.C.T. Police were called by building security who found the facility had been broken into.
Glass doors were smashed – and after a search, the man gave himself up to authorities.
He was immediately placed under arrest and taken into custody.
It’s understood, the man told officers – he believed people were trapped inside the building and needed his help to be set free.
He’s been charged with trespassing and damaging commonwealth property
