Opposition Questions Government’s E-Scooter Risk Management

The Opposition is questioning whether potential plans to limit e-scooter accidents will be effective.

A Legislative Inquiry has been told that targeted curfews and no-park zones around nightclubs are being considered.

Shadow Transport Minister Mark Parton says those who want to access the scooters will still use them.

“Surely if you just geocached those venues away, making it so someone can’t ride it from Mooseheads, if someone was hellbent on taking one, surely they will just grab one so I don’t see how this is going to solve the problem,” Parton said.

The government is also looking at expanding the service to the Gungahlin and Tuggeranong Town centres.
