Canberrans who want to take their pets onto a flight out of the national capital will have to wait a little bit longer.

Virgin Australia launched a big campaign, nearly a year ago, promoting plans for pet friendly flights.. to allow travellers to bring their dog or cat into the cabin, instead of the cargo hold.

The airline hoped to have it all arranged about now… however, the approval process is taking longer than expected.

One part of the process HAS been approved, thanks to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

There’s no room in business, so it’s all economy travel for passengers – who must agree to set conditions… and a fee.

Virgin hopes to have all set in stone….. soon.
