A.C.T. Senator DAVID POCOCK wants a ban on the use of Artificial Intellegence in pre-election campaigning.
Senator POCOCK is joining by Curtin MP Kate Chaney – in a joint letter, calling for the action, to avoid the mis-use of A.I. To undermine democracy.
The pair has raised concerns about the absence of any Federal Truth in Political Advertising laws….
They want any use of A.I. Generated image, audio or other content during an election campaign, to be prohibited….
Under current policies, the Commonwealth Electoral Act makes it an offence to publish material that could mislead or deceive an elector.
