An A.C.T. Magistrate has slammed territory police over what’s been described as “INEXLPLICABLE – GRATUITOUS VIOLENCE” in an unlawful arrest.

It’s a case which has been referred to the Police internal investigation Professional Standards unit.

In November last year, officers were called to a Canberra home amid reports of a domestic violence incident… the case was dropped.

Police claimed the man resisted arrest –

Eventhough Body-worn camera footage showed a different story… the man was tasered in the back, 5 times, while he was being held down.

The Judge has since declared, the police action was excessive and unlawful.
