A man was found dead in Majura, following what police believe could be a hit and run, marking the third road fatality for the year.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident believed to have taken place on Pialligo Avenue, between Oaks Estate Road and Scherger Drive.

ACT Road Policing acting Inspector Ken Williams says the investigation would present unique challenges.

“At this stage we don’t have too much information so we’re seeking public support and assistance,” Williams said.

“We would dearly like any dash cam or video footage that members of the public have.”
