The Federal Police Union says it’s learned some valuable lessons in the wake of the recent wages dispute.
It’s been a year of difficult negotiations… and industrial action, but the Federal Police Association recently wrapped up a vote in favour of an 11.2 percent wage increase.
But the vote only just made it over the line.
Association President ALEX CARUANA along the way, they discovered, the bargaining process can be crippling because of the current set up of arrangements, that limited leeway and flexibility.
Work has already begun to reconstruct a fresh version of the process.
