A search operation is underway in the Snowy Mountains for a missing skiier.

23 year old Andrew Seton told his family he was going cross country skiing in the back country of the Kozioscko national park on Saturday and he hasn’t been heard from since.

His car remains at the Guthega car park.

the experienced skier had supplies for that day and adequate gear for the conditions.

Police and SES are now scouring the mountain.
