ACT Policing is appealing for information and footage after reports of a black Holden SS ute driving dangerously in Coombs.

Officers say the vehicle has been seen travelling at high speeds and performing burnouts on Cornelius Street.

Detective Inspector Donna Hofmeier, Officer in Charge of Woden Police Station, said the behaviour put the community at risk.

“This kind of driving behaviour poses an unacceptable risk to our community, putting people, including children who live in that area, in danger,” she said.

“Dangerous driving will not be tolerated, and we are committed to removing these drivers from our roads.”

Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage of the ute to come forward.

Members of the public can now also lodge dangerous driving reports online via the ACT Policing website. Video evidence is required, and witnesses may be asked to provide a formal statement or attend court.

Police say witnesses will be supported throughout the process, and many cases can be resolved without going before a court.
